Peatling leads E. Washington past N. Colorado 88-78 in OT

CHENEY, Wash. -- Mason Peatling drove for a layup to open the scoring in overtime and Eastern Washington easily won the extra period to knock off Northern Colorado 88-78 on Saturday afternoon.

Tyler Kidd followed with a 3 and completed the scoring with two free throws as the Eagles outscored Northern Colorado 13-3 in OT.

EWU had a 75-67 lead after Kidd drained a trey with 3:35 remaining in regulation. Jonah Radebaugh answered with a 3 and the Bears held EWU scoreless the rest of the second period, tying the game on a Jordan Davis jumper with 24 seconds left.

Peatling finished with 24 points. Jesse Hunt and Kidd added 21 points each for the Eagles. Hunt also had seven rebounds and six assists.

Jacob Davison had 13 points and seven rebounds for EWU (9-15, 7-6 Big Sky Conference), which earned its sixth consecutive home victory.

Davis had 20 points and seven assists for the Bears (17-9, 11-4). Radebaugh added 11 points and eight rebounds. Jalen Sanders had 11 points.

The Eagles evened the season series against the Bears with the win. Northern Colorado defeated Eastern Washington 75-63 on Jan. 7. Eastern Washington matches up against Idaho at home on Monday. Northern Colorado plays Montana on the road next Monday.
