Clayton, Morgan lead Coppin State past NC Central 64-60

DURHAM, N.C. -- Dejuan Clayton scored 16 points and Lamar Morgan scored 15 with seven rebounds and Coppin State knocked off North Carolina Central 64-60 on Saturday.

Morgan's 3-pointer with 34 seconds left broke a 58-all tie and Clayton made 3 of 4 foul shots to seal the win. Clayton's layup with 83 seconds remaining capped a 20-13 rally over an eight-minute span. Brendan Medley-Bacon scored 11 points with seven rebounds for Coppin State.

Larry McKnight Jr. scored 22 points, Jibri Blount 21 and Raasean Davis 10 with 10 rebounds.

Coppin State (3-17, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) has won three of its last five contests after starting the season with a 15-game losing streak. Two of those 15 losses were against Top 25 teams (No. 4 Virginia and No. 21 Houston). Coppin State started the season on the road against Wisconsin and lost by just seven at Notre Dame.

North Carolina Central (8-10, 3-1) saw its four-game win streak come to an end.
