Old Dominion beats Kennesaw St in Paradise Jam

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands -- Ahmad Caver scored 14 points, and Old Dominion pulled away early Saturday en route to a 65-47 victory over Kennesaw State in the consolation round of the Paradise Jam tournament.

B.J. Stith had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Monarchs (2-2), who led by as many as 23 points in the second half at the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center.

Tyler Hooker scored 18 points and Bobby Parker added 13 for the Owls (1-4), who lost their fourth straight.

Kennesaw State led early, scoring six of the first eight points. But Old Dominion, which won this tournament in 2010, rallied to take the lead at 7-6 on Dajour Dickens' jumper. The Monarchs went on to outscore the Owls 24-8 over the rest of the half, and led 31-14 at the break.

Old Dominion's biggest lead came with 7:48 remaining in the second half, with Joe Reece's tipin putting the Monarchs up 56-33.
