Dowtin lifts Rhode Island past George Mason 78-64

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Jeff Dowtin scored 20 points, Tyrese Martin added 18 with 10 rebounds and Rhode Island won its seventh straight Atlantic 10 Conference contest, 78-64 over George Mason on Tuseday night.

Fatts Russell scored 15 points with six rebounds and five assists and Antwan Walker had 13 points for the Rams (15-5, 7-1), who held the Patriots to 38% shooting from the floor (26 of 68). Cyril Langevine blocked four shots.

AJ Wilson scored a career-high 23 points with nine rebounds for George Mason (13-8, 2-6), which made just 2 of 19 from beyond the arc (11%). Jordan Miller scored 11 points with seven boards and Javon Greene had eight rebounds and five steals.

Rhode Island faces VCU at home on Friday. George Mason plays Saint Bonaventure on the road on Saturday.
