Charleston Southern tops Presbyterian in Big South tourney

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Phlandrous Fleming Jr. recorded a triple-double in Big South Conference tournament history and Charleston Southern beat Presbyterian 81-64 on Tuesday night.

Fleming finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and three blocks. Deontay Buskey tied the school record with eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points for Charleston Southern (14-11).

The No. 9 seed Buccaneers play top-seeded Radford in the quarterfinals Thursday. CSU lost 77-74 in overtime at Radford on Feb. 1 in the only meeting between the teams in the regular season.

Cory Hightower had 16 points for the Blue Hose (10-22). Ben Drake added 10 points. Sean Jenkins had six rebounds.

Chris Martin, the Blue Hose's second leading scorer entering the matchup at 11 points per game, finished with nine points but shot just 1 of 6 from the field.
