Richmond leading scorer out for year

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond scoring leader Cedrick Lindsay will miss the rest of the season because of knee injuries.

Coach Chris Mooney said Wednesday that the senior guard tore menisci in both knees. Lindsay averaged 18.3 points for the Spiders (14-8, 4-3 Atlantic 10). That was third-best in the conference.

Lindsay finished his career 22nd on the Spiders' career scoring list with 1,276 points. He ranks seventh in assists with 355, and 11th in steals with 129.

The Spiders have lost two players in two days. Mooney announced Tuesday that senior forward Derrick Williams left the team for personal reasons.
