Crew Ainge commits to play at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah -- The son of Boston Celtics executive and former BYU star Danny Ainge has committed to play at Utah State.

Coach Tim Duryea said Tuesday that Utah State has signed Crew Ainge to its 2015-16 basketball class.

The 5-foot-11 Ainge played point guard at Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire. He will not play the next two seasons due to an LDS Church mission, but is scheduled to return for the 2017-18 season. Ainge is planning to go through the Utah State summer program with the team before leaving for his mission in August.

Duryea lauded Ainge's basketball intelligence, saying he has been exposed to the game at a high level throughout his life.

The Aggies return all five starters from the 2014-15 team that went 18-13.
