Louisville is having success with graduate transfers this season, and the Cardinals are hoping for more of the same in 2016-17. Penn guard Tony Hicks, who is sitting out this season, committed to Louisville Tuesday. SB Nation first reported the news of Hicks' decision. "He will be a graduate transfer there next year," said Gary DeCesare, Hicks' former high school coach. Hicks, a 6-foot-2 guard, led the Quakers in scoring each of the past two seasons. He averaged 14.9 points in 2013-14 and 13.2 points in 2014-15. He announced in October that he would sit out the 2015-16 season and graduate from Penn in May. Because he is graduating with a year of eligibility remaining, Hicks is able to transfer to another school and play immediately. Louisville's two best players this season are graduate transfers. Damion Lee came from Drexel and is averaging 17.6 points and 4.0 rebounds, while Cleveland State graduate Trey Lewis is averaging 14.3 points and 2.4 assists. Rick Pitino and the Cardinals (12-2, 1-0 in the ACC) travel to NC State on Thursday.
