Sources: LaVall Jordan to get first college head-coaching job

Milwaukee has hired Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan as its new men's basketball coach, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

Jordan has been an assistant with Wolverines coach John Beilein for the past six years. He previously spent three years at Iowa and three at Butler under Todd Lickliter.

Jordan was in the mix for the Butler's head-coaching job after Brad Stevens left three years ago for the NBA, but the Bulldogs instead hired Brandon Miller, who stepped down after one season.

Jordan will replace Rob Jeter, who was fired after 11 seasons. The Panthers went 20-13 last season.
