Martin Ingelsby to be named Delaware's new coach

Men's College Basketball, Delaware Blue Hens, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Delaware has hired Notre Dame assistant Martin Ingelsby as its next head coach, sources told ESPN.

A news conference to introduce Ingelsby could come as early as Wednesday, according to sources.

Ingelsby has worked under Mike Brey at Notre Dame for the past 13 years, the past seven coming as an assistant coach.

Brey was the head coach at Delaware from 1995 to 2000, before leaving for Notre Dame -- where he coached Ingelsby for one season.

Ingelsby, a Philadelphia native, replaces Monte Ross, who was let go in March after 10 seasons with the Blue Hens. The school's search for Ross' replacement was delayed because it was waiting first to hire an athletic director, which it did two weeks ago, when it named Christine Rawak to the position.
