RECAP
DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) _ Tom Glavine pitched two hitless innings in his first outing of the spring, and Brian Jordan homered Monday to lead the Atlanta Braves over the Toronto Blue Jays 12-2. Glavine threw 24 pitches, 13 for strikes, walked one and hit a batter. He played down his performance. ``We're pretty excited about what we can do offensively,'' he said. Jordan homered off Toronto starter Gary Glover and added an RBI single. Glover, the losing pitcher, allowed three runs and three hits in three innings. Toronto reliever John Bale was ragged for five runs, including a three-run homer by Marcus Giles. Jeff Horn hit a two-run homer for Atlanta in a three-run ninth off Lance Painter. Blue Jays second baseman Homer Bush was hit on the left thigh by a Glavine pitch in the first and split his left thumbnail as he got out of the way. Charlie Greene had two doubles and an RBI for Toronto. Toronto right-hander Peter Munro, coming off offseason elbow surgery, threw his first inning of the spring, allowing one run and two hits. He threw strictly fastballs and changeups. Notes: Toronto RHP Chris Carpenter was in Birmingham, Ala., on Monday to see Dr. James Andrews about his swollen right elbow. ``Dr. Andrews indicated that the swelling was nothing of concern and prescribed some anti-inflammatories,'' the Blue Jays said. Toronto said he will take several days off and should be pitching again by next Monday.
