JUPITER, Fla. (AP) - Hideki Irabu pitched three innings Monday in his first start of the spring and had an RBI single in a seven-run first as the Montreal Expos beat the New York Mets 11-6. Irabu started with two perfect innings, then got into trouble in the third when he made an error and threw two wild pitches, leading to a pair of unearned runs. ``I did all right,'' Irabu said through interpreter Go Ikeda. ``All of my pitches were where I wanted them.' Irabu, 30, was obtained from the New York Yankees on Dec. 22. He retired the first seven batters, striking out three, then dropped a throw from first baseman Fernando Seguignol on Domingo Cedeno's grounder. Pinch-hitter Jason Tyner singled home a run and Melvin Mora hit a sacrifice fly. ``It was a good show,'' Expos manager Felipe Alou said. ``We saw some super stuff the first two innings. He had the good command of his fastball like we saw last summer in New York.'' New York starter Bobby J. Jones failed to retire a batter, allowing seven runs, six hits and three walks. Rondell White had a two-run double and Chris Widger a two-run single before Irabu's hit. ``My arm felt fine,'' Jones said. ``I guess it was a typical first start in that I got a lot of pitches up.'' Irabu had one hit in nine at-bats for the Yankees in interleague play, a single off the Expos' Dustin Hermanson two years ago. Geoff Blum of the Expos and the Mets' Juan LoBron and Mike Kinkade had two hits apiece. Notes: Montreal C Chris Widger left in the third with a cut on his head from Jon Nunnally's bat on a follow through. In the clubhouse after the game, Widger said he was still a little dizzy. ... Expos RHP Mike Thurman will have an MRI on his pitching elbow after reporting pain Monday. Thurman had a cortisone injection in the elbow last fall after missing his final two starts of the season.
