KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Marc Sagmoen is making a lot of friends in the Astros clubhouse.

Sagmoen hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday to rally the Houston Astros to a 5-4 victory over the Florida Marlins. It was the second ninth-inning, game-winning hit this spring for the minor league outfielder.

``He's the most popular guy in camp,'' Astros manager Larry Dierker said. ``If we lose, we run. If we win, we don't run. Nobody wants to run.''

Lance Berkman walked to lead off the ninth before Sagmoen homered to right field off Braden Looper (0-1). Sagmoen entered the game in the eighth inning as an injury replacement for Matt Mieske, who hit a ball of his right foot.

Only six games into the exhibition season, Sagmoen already has a two-run homer against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the exhibition opener and a RBI single in the ninth inning to beat St. Louis on Monday.

Sagmoen is batting .500 (3-for-6) with two homers and team-leading five RBIs this spring.

Sagmoen, 28, signed a minor league contract with the Astros over the winter and is expected to start the season at Class AAA New Orleans. He spent seven years in the Texas Rangers farm system, playing in 21 big league games in 1997.

The Marlins scored two unearned runs off Jose Lima in the first inning. Alex Gonzalez singled and Kevin Millar reached base on a fielding error by Ken Caminiti that would have been the third out. Mark Smith followed with a two-run double to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead.

Smith went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Florida, which dropped to 2-4 in exhibition play. Millar had two hits and scored two runs.

The Astros scored three runs in the fifth inning, the highlight a two-run double by Caminiti off Brian Edmondson.

Lima allowed two unearned runs and three hits over three innings in his third outing of the spring.
