KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Gary Sheffield hit a first-inning home run off his uncle, Dwight Gooden, as the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Houston Astros 7-4 Friday.

Matt Mieske hit a three-run double off Terry Adams in a five-run seventh as the Astros improved to 7-1, the best spring training record in the majors. The Dodgers have the worst mark at 1-9.

Sheffield hit a towering home run off Gooden, who had retired his first 12 batters of the spring. Gooden, with the Astros on a minor league contract, allowed three runs and four hits in three innings.

Lance Berkman hit a two-run homer in the third off Darren Dreifort, who gave up two runs and three hits in four innings.
