TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Shrugging off his pending legal troubles, Pedro Astacio threw four scoreless innings to help the Colorado Rockies blank the Seattle Mariners 8-0, snapping a four-game losing streak.

Astacio, facing deportation to the Dominican Republic because of a guilty plea in January in a domestic-violence case, was allowed to change his plea to not guilty on Wednesday, and he is scheduled to stand trial in July.

Astacio has declined all comment about his problems, but when asked after Friday's game if pitching in a game helped him get through a tough week, he said, "When we go to the game, you don't worry about anything. We go there and enjoy the game and have fun."

Astacio allowed the only three hits the Mariners got and struck out three.

Four Rockies minor-leaguers held the Mariners without a hit over the last five innings, including two shutout innings by Jason Jennings, the club's first-round selection in the 1999 June draft. After Astacio yielded a leadoff double to Alex Rodriguez in the fourth, Seattle's last 20 batters failed to get a hit.

Colorado, which came into the game with the second-lowest batting average in the NL this spring (.259), pounded out 14 hits, including seven doubles _ two each by Larry Walker and Jeff Cirillo.

Cirillo had an RBI double and Todd Helton an RBI single in the third inning off Seattle starter Aaron Sele, who allowed five hits and two runs in his three-inning stint.

Cirillo had another run-scoring double and Jeff Manto a two-run single in the sixth off Todd Williams.

In a "B" game played prior to the main game, the Rockies beat the Mariners 8-3. Colorado starter Rolando Arrojo pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit with three strikeouts. Seattle's Brett Tomko pitched 1 2-3 innings, yielding one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Brent Butler's three-run double keyed a seven-run fifth inning. Colorado closer Jerry Dipoto pitched two scoreless innings. Seattle's Edgar Martinez had two hits and two RBIs.
