PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) _ Darren Oliver pitched 4 1-3 hitless innings and Ivan Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with two RBIs Wednesday, leading the Texas Rangers over the Baltimore Orioles 2-0.

Oliver, 9-9 with a 4.26 ERA last year, struck out two and walked one. Jeff Zimmerman finished the fifth, and the Orioles got their first hit in the sixth, Eugene Kingsale's bunt single off Ryan Glynn.

Chad Curtis doubled in the first and scored on a single by Rodriguez. Curtis and Rodriguez also doubled in the sixth off Chuck McElroy.

Orioles starter Calvin Maduro allowed one runs and four hits in four innings.

Notes: Luis Alicea of Texas hit into consecutive double plays in the fifth and seventh innings.... The Rangers have hit at least one home run in eight of their first 13 games and have hit more than one in five games.
