KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Javy Lopez and Randall Simon hit three-run homers and Brian Jordan added a two-run shot Friday to power the Atlanta Braves to an 8-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Greg Maddux went six innings for the Braves, giving up his first run of the spring on five hits and striking out five as Atlanta snapped a five-game losing streak.

Maddux, who will pitch the season opener, has an 0.60 ERA this spring, giving up eight hits and one run in 15 innings. He has struck out 14 and walked only two.

Mike Benjamin drove in both of Pittsburgh's runs with RBI singles in the fifth off Maddux and in the seventh off Kerry Ligtenberg.

With the Braves trailing 2-0, Lopez hit his third home run of the spring with two on in the seventh off Jason Christiansen.

The Braves broke it open in the eighth when Jordan hit a two-run homer, his fourth, and Simon hit his first, a three-run homer. Both were off Pittsburgh's Marc Wilkins.

Pittsburgh right-hander Jason Schmidt pitched six scoreless innings. He gave up two hits, two walks and struck out three.
