PHOENIX (AP) _ Terrell Lowery had three hits and four RBIs as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Oakland Athletics 14-5 on Sunday. Jay Canizaro, battling for a utility spot on the Giants' roster, hit his fourth homer of the spring. Eric Chavez had three hits and three RBIs for the A's, who have lost their last four games. The Giants broke a 4-4 tie with five runs in the fifth, highlighted by Canizaro's homer off Oakland starter Omar Olivares. Jeff Kent, Rich Aurilia and Lowery also drove in runs in the inning. Aurilia doubled in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Kirk Rueter allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings to get the victory. He walked two and struck out five. Olivares allowed 11 runs on 11 hits and four walks in 5 1-3 innings. His spring ERA rose to 6.17 from 2.70. Lowery, also battling for an outfield spot, singled home a run in the third and added a two-run single in the sixth. Marvin Benard and Calvin Murray each drove in two runs for the Giants. J.T. Snow had two hits. Matt Stairs doubled twice and scored two runs for the A's.
