DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) _ Brad Fullmer homered twice and drove in five runs to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 8-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.

Fullmer hit a solo homer in the second inning and a grand slam in the third off loser Mark Clark, who gave up six runs and seven hits in five innings. Fullmer has five homers in the last four days.

``I'm just trying to get it locked in and roll it into next week,'' Fullmer said. ``From the top to the bottom of the order, this team can swing the bat.''

Alex Gonzalez had a two-run homer in the sixth for Toronto, while Rafael Palmeiro, Gabe Kapler and Frank Catalanotto homered for Texas.

Roy Halladay gave up eight hits and five runs in 6 2-3 innings to get the win. Halladay retired 10 in a row at one point after allowing three homers in the first three innings.

``It's not how you start the game, it's how you finish it,'' catcher Alberto Castillo said.

Notes: David Segui, who was part of the three-team trade on March 16, that sent Fullmer from Montreal to Toronto didn't make the road trip to play against his former team. ... Texas LHP Justin Thompson, recovering from shoulder surgery to his left shoulder, is scheduled to appear in another minor league game on Friday ... Toronto LHP David Wells returned $15,000 he received in January to be the featured speaker at a charity dinner in Rochester, N.Y. Wells canceled his appearance at the last minute and Rochester Press Radio Club had threatened to sue the pitcher.
