BALTIMORE (AP) -- Of the Baltimore bullpen's frequent blowups this season, Saturday's collapse may have been the most demoralizing yet. Mike Stanley, Scott Hatteberg and Donnie Sadler homered off reliever Mike Trombley in the eighth inning as the Boston Red Sox rallied to beat Baltimore 5-1 Saturday, extending the Orioles' losing streak to six games. "It happened quick. It was about as disappointing a game as I've ever had. It was my loss today -- all my loss, nobody else's," Trombley said. Trombley gave up the three homers in a span of six pitches. The Red Sox, held hitless by Jason Johnson until Stanley singled with two outs in the sixth, won their fourth in a row. The crowd of 48,579 was the largest for a regular season game in the nine-year history of Camden Yards. "It's a nice win, and it's (tough) to squander (starter Jeff) Fassero's game -- another terrific pitching performance from one of our guys that we didn't get anything for," Stanley said. "We've been getting tremendous pitching. That's where it starts." Baltimore led 1-0 with two outs in the eighth when Trombley replaced Buddy Groom with a runner on first. Stanley put the Red Sox ahead 2-1 with a two-run shot into the left-field stands. Hatteberg followed with his first homer of the season, a line drive to left-center. "It snowballs," Hatteberg said. "Things seemed to get contagious awfully quick and that's what happened." After Trombley (2-2) hit Wilton Veras on the upper right arm with an off-speed delivery, Sadler drove the first pitch into the left-center bleachers for a 5-1 lead. That finished Trombley. "It's kind of hard to do. You go out and throw batting practice and you don't think you could give up that many," Trombley said. Rich Garces (1-0) pitched a scoreless seventh inning. "When you come back and win a game like that, when you don't have any hits until the sixth. it's great," Boston manager Jimy Williams said. Baltimore, which has lost 10 of 11, wasted a strong effort by Johnson, who allowed two hits in seven innings. He walked six and struck out five. Orioles manager Mike Hargrove said he'd stick with his bullpen, despite the fact that relievers have struggled throughout the season. The Orioles have blown nine save opportunities, four by Trombley. "It's not just one guy -- it's been every one of them," Hargrove said. "We're in one of those spells, and have been for about 10 days, where every time we blink and make a mistake it gets capitalized on." Brady Anderson gave Baltimore a 1-0 lead in the third when he hit a 3-2 pitch from Fassero into the bleachers in right-center for his sixth home run. Fassero, who had won three consecutive starts, gave up six hits, walked one and struck out two in six-plus innings. Game notesBaltimore activated C Willie Morales, who had a hyperextended left elbow, from the 15-day disabled list before the game and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester. ... Before homering, Anderson had been 1-for-10 lifetime against Fassero. ... Fassero has not won four straight starts since June 27-July 14, 1998 when he was with Seattle. ..
