PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Nights like Friday make Colorado Rockies manager Buddy Bell happy.

"If every night was like tonight, this would be a great job," Bell said after the Rockies routed the Philadelphia Phillies 10-2. "It's nice to have them every once in a while."

	Andy Ashby left the Phillies in an eight-run hole when his final numbers came in after 3 2/3 innings.

Jeffery Hammonds and Brent Mayne each had four RBI, and Pedro Astacio became the winningest pitcher in Rockies history. Astacio (5-2) won his 40th game in the 7½-season history of the Rockies, surpassing Kevin Ritz, 39-28 from 1994-98.

"He threw whatever he wanted," Phillies manager Terry Francona said. "He buckled some guys and continued to throw nothing but good breaking balls."

Astacio did not allow a hit until the fourth inning and went seven innings, giving up two runs, six hits and five walks while striking out 10.

"It doesn't take much," Hammonds said. "Give him a couple of runs and you see what happens."

Andy Ashby (2-4) was pounded for eight runs -- six earned -- and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings as Philadelphia lost for the sixth time in seven games.

"It was just one of those nights where it wasn't very good all the way around," Ashby said. "It's hard to give your team a chance to get some momentum when you are down 10 runs by the fourth inning."

Colorado, which has won five of six, outhit the Phillies 14-6.

"When you score two in the first inning and continue to score runs, that's real good," Astacio said.

The Rockies went ahead in the first on Hammonds' two-run double and made it 4-0 in the third on a sacrifice fly by Darren Bragg and a run-scoring single by Mayne, who was 3-for-4.

Hammonds hit another two-run double in the fourth, chasing Ashby.

"Obviously, he didn't have his best stuff," Bell said. "We just kept putting the pressure on."

After a walk, Steve Schrenk gave up a three-run double to Mayne, making it 9-0. Neifi Perez's single brought home Colorado's final run.

Ron Gant hit an RBI single in the fifth for Philadelphia and Kevin Sefcik doubled in a run in the seventh.

The start was delayed by 10 minutes due to a travel delay involving two umpires. Jim McKean and Dan Morrison never made it to Philadelphia after being delayed in Cleveland. Kerwin Danley and Andrew Fletcher did arrive for the game and were joined by fill-in umpire Mike Fichter. However, Danley and Fletcher worked the game in sweatpants and a sweatshirt because their equipment did not arrive. ... The game was played in unseasonably cold weather, with a 59-degree temperature and high winds at gametime. It drizzled through much of the game. ... Kevin Jordan's single in the sixth inning extended his hitting streak to nine games, matching his career high. ... It was the fifth time in Mayne's career that he had four RBI. The last time was on May 6, 1998 against Florida.
