ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Ivan Rodriguez homered twice, including a two-run go-ahead shot in the seventh inning, in the Texas Rangers' 7-6 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday night. Matt Perisho (1-0) got the last two outs of the seventh for his first major league victory as the Rangers won for the ninth time in 10 games at The Ballpark in Arlington. John Wetteland pitched the ninth for his 15th save, and extended his club record with a save in his 12th straight appearance. Rodriguez and Rafael Palmeiro hit back-to-back homers in the first. With his 378th career homer, Palmeiro moved into sole possession of 43rd place on the career list, one behind Orlando Cepeda and Tony Perez. Trailing 6-4 in the seventh, Texas started a three-run rally against reliever Byung-Hyun Kim (2-3) when Scarborough Green singled, stole second, went to third on a balk and scored on Luis Alicea's sacrifice fly. After Rusty Greer walked, Rodriguez hit his 18th homer of the season to put Texas in front 7-6. Texas took a 4-3 lead into the seventh, but Luis Gonzalez tied it with a homer off Francisco Cordero. Matt Williams singled and Steve Finley followed with his 20th homer to give Arizona a 6-4 lead. Arizona's Craig Counsell went 4-for-4 and hit his first homer in two seasons. The Diamondbacks got a first-inning run on Jay Bell's triple, but Texas took a 2-1 lead in the first on the homers by Rodriguez and Palmeiro. Arizona tied it at 2 in the second on Counsell's leadoff homer, his first in 210 at-bats. Texas took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on Royce Clayton's sacrifice fly and added a run in the fifth on Greer's single. Rangers starter Esteban Loaiza took a 4-2 lead into the sixth before the Diamondbacks rallied to make it 4-3 on Andy Fox's RBI double. Loaiza allowed five runs and 10 hits over 5 1-3 innings. Arizona starter Omar Daal gave up five runs and eight hits over six innings. Kim pitched one inning, allowed two runs, one hit and walked one in the loss. Game notesCounsell's last homer came on July 24, 1998. ... A glove-wearing fan reached out to catch Rodriguez's homer, but the ball had already cleared the right-field wall beyond the reach of outfielder Turner Ward. ...
