Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria sits with bruised left shoulder

NEW YORK -- Miami Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria is out of the lineup against the New York Mets because of a bruised left shoulder.

Hechavarria, who had started all 49 games this season, banged into left fielder Christian Yelich while they were pursuing Daniel Murphy's bloop double in the ninth inning Friday night. Hechavarria was shaken up but finished the game.

Donovan Solano was set to start at shortstop Saturday in the middle game of the series. Marlins manager Dan Jennings says Hechavarria is day to day and the team hopes he'll be sidelined for just a day or two.

"Pretty ugly collision," Jennings said. "It could have been much worse. It looked much worse."

Hechavarria is hitting .300 with two homers and 20 RBI.
