MIAMI -- The Miami Marlins on Tuesday placed right-hander Edwin Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right triceps and recalled right-hander Nick Wittgren from Triple-A New Orleans.
Jackson's arm has bothered him off and on, and the Marlins don't believe the ailment is serious, manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday.
Jackson went 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 3 2/3 innings of relief. Wittgren, who has yet to make his major league debut, had a 3.38 ERA in 5 1/3 innings at New Orleans.
