Tigers place LHP Daniel Norris on 15-day DL with right oblique strain

DETROIT -- The Tigers have placed left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris on the 15-day disabled after tests revealed a Grade 1 right oblique strain, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

The news comes just one day after the team saw another starter go down to injury, with Jordan Zimmermann placed on the disabled list Monday with a neck strain, forcing the club to pencil in Anibal Sanchez for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Norris is expected to miss 10-14 days with the same injury which also sidelined him last August.

In the wake of the injuries to Norris and Zimmeran, the Tigers recalled pitcher Buck Farmer from Triple-A Toledo. However, the team has not announced who would make Saturday's start instead of Norris, though the likely candidate is Matt Boyd.

The Tigers enter Tuesday's game against the Indians having lost all 10 games against their American League Central Division rivals this season.
