The Pittsburgh Pirates placed outfielder Corey Dickerson on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a right shoulder strain.
The Pirates activated pitcher Jordan Lyles ahead of his start Thursday to replace Dickerson on the 25-man active roster.
Dickerson did not start Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals because of soreness in his shoulder but grounded out as a pinch hitter in the eighth.
Dickerson opened the season 2-for-13 with a double and a home run and three walks.
