The Kansas City Royals put shortstop Adalberto Mondesi on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a groin injury.
Mondesi left Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners with tightness in his right groin. The speedy Mondesi is batting .269 with 44 RBIs, and leads the majors in stolen bases (27) and triples (eight).
Infielder Humberto Arteaga was promoted from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.
