WBC in Tokyo offers Tokyo Dome ice cream sandwich in Pool C

Concession stands at the World Baseball Classic aren't shying away from highlighting the tournament's different host cities.

Tokyo is the host for Group C, which includes the teams from Japan, Chinese Taipei, Korea, Australia and Czechia. Held at the Tokyo Dome, which was built in 1988, the World Baseball Classic is honoring the venue with a distinctive sweet treat.

The venue is offering an ice cream sandwich that resembles the Tokyo Dome, with specific details of the stadium replicated on the cold treat.

The sandwich, which seems to come in vanilla and chocolate flavors and features creamy ice cream surrounded by two crispy wafer shells, is based on a traditional Japanese dessert called monaka.

Japan finished Pool C with a four-game win streak, going undefeated. The defending champions shut out Czechia 9-0 on Tuesday without Shohei Ohtani, who rested with elimination play looming.
