RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

ATLANTA (AP) -- Jim Jackson made the most of his openings against the Toronto Raptors.

Jackson scored 22 of his 31 points in the second half as the Atlanta Hawks snapped a season-high five-game losing streak with a 105-97 victory over the Raptors on Friday night.

"You just have to get in right positions to shoot the ball, and when your teammates get you the ball, you have to knock it down," Jackson said.

He was 12-of-17 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range.

"We needed that, not just to break the losing streak, but for ourselves," Jackson said.

Isaiah Rider added 27 points, 20 in the first half, and Alan Henderson had 19 for the Hawks, who played their third game in a row with Stan Albeck handling the coaching duties for Lenny Wilkens, who has the flu.

"Jim had a good game," Rider said of Jackson. "Jim's been playing that was for the last two or three games. He kept us above the flow when they made a run."

"Both games that we played them they (Jackson and Rider) have really been the key," Toronto's Charles Oakley said. "They killed us both games. They play hard. They come to the basket. They make things happen."

Vince Carter broke out of a mini-slump with a 34-point performance for the Raptors, who erased a 17-point lead and went in front 82-81 on two free throws by Carter with 6:28 left.

Anthony Johnson's basket from the top of the key with 6:10 to play gave the Hawks the lead for good, 83-82.

Dikembe Mutombo, who had 11 rebounds before fouling out with 1:45 left, then converted a three-point play for an 86-82 lead with 5:33 remaining. Toronto never got closer than two points the rest of the way.

Oakley added 14 points, and Doug Christie and Tracy McGrady had 13 each for the Raptors, who lost for only the second time in six games.

Rider had eight points in the opening period, sparking Atlanta to a 27-13 lead. The advantage went to 47-30 on a 20-footer by Rider 3:22 before the half for what turned out to be Atlanta's biggest lead of the night.

Carter and Oakley sparked the Toronto comeback.

Jackson had Atlanta's first 14 points in the third quarter and Rider missed his first eight shots in the second half.
