ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Chris Gatling had 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Orlando Magic routed Atlanta 103-87 on Saturday night, ending the Hawks' three-game winning streak. Orlando broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Atlanta 42-23 to take a 58-39 halftime lead. After missing its first 12 shots from the field and falling behind 12-2, Orlando connected on 22 of its next 32 shots. Corey Maggette added 18 points, and Darrell Armstrong had 16. Jim Jackson led Atlanta with 15 points on 7-of-21 shooting, while Dikembe Mutombo added 12 rebounds. Orlando's reserves scored 38 of the team's 42 points in the second quarter, connecting on 15-of-20 shots from the field, led by Gatling's 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting. The frustrations of the second quarter took its toll on the Hawks, who were whistled for three technical fouls during a 2:10 span late in the period. Mutombo, Bimbo Coles and Coach Lenny Wilkens each was penalized for arguing with referees. The Hawks managed to pull to within 13 points on two occasions in the fourth quarter, last trimming the Magic lead to 80-67 with just over 10 minutes remaining. Atlanta scored the game's first eight points, holding Orlando scoreless for the opening 5:06 and led 14-4 before the Magic used a 12-2 run to tie it at 16 after one quarter. Notes: Orlando's 42-point second quarter was the team's highest scoring quarter of the season. ... Isiah Rider had one of his worst shooting nights for Atlanta, hitting just 4-of-18 shots while being held to 10 points, 13 below his average. ... Atlanta forward Roshown McLeod, activated off the injured list prior to the Hawks' 98-96 overtime victory against New York on Friday night, saw his first action since being put on the IL on Dec. 8. He had six points in six minutes.
