VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Michael Dickerson scored 14 of his 25 points in the first quarter Tuesday night as the Vancouver Grizzlies snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 98-82 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Dickerson shot 9-for-13 from the field in 30 minutes and combined with fellow guard Mike Bibby, who added 10 points, to give Vancouver its 19th win of the season, equaling a franchise high.

The Warriors, who shot 34 percent from the floor in losing for the 12th time in 14 outings, were led by 16 points from Donyell Marshall.

Leading 34-24 after one quarter, the Grizzlies penetrated at will on offense and took advantage of a sloppy start to the second period by the Warriors. Golden State had just two field goals in the first 6:43 and offered no resistance on defense, and Vancouver's 59-37 lead at halftime was the largest in franchise history.

The second half was even worse for the Warriors, who were without five regulars because of injuries. Vancouver moved to a 32-point advantage late in the third period, two baskets off another franchise mark, at which time both teams emptied their benches.

Vancouver won the game on the boards, holding an 50-42 edge against the second-best rebounding team in the NBA. The Grizzlies also took much better care of the ball, committing 15 turnovers, a big improvement from their previous two outings in which they registered 28 in each contest.

Notes: The win was the first by the Grizzlies over the Warriors in eight tries dating back to Jan. 24, 1998. ...After releasing ex-Grizzlies guard Sam Mack on Monday, the Warriors signed journeyman forward Bill Curley for the remainder of the season... Vancouver placed guard Brent Price (back) on the injured list and activated rookie guard Milt Palacio... Vancouver guard Doug West (foot) did not play. ... The Vancouver Sun reported Tuesday that Jim Les, who coached briefly as an assistant with Sacramento of the WNBA, will be added to the coaching staff being assembled by Dick Versace for the Grizzlies next season. Versace has been working closely with incoming owner Michael Heisley, assembling a second scouting staff to watch the NCAA tournament. Les played six NBA seasons and joins a lengthy list of Versace associates expected to be employed next season by Heisley.
