ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks gave coach Lenny Wilkens a win in what might have been his final home appearance with the team, posting a 111-109 double-overtime victory over the New Jersey Nets. Wilkens, the winningest coach in NBA history with 1,179 victories, guided the Hawks to winning seasons in each of his first six years in Atlanta. But with the Hawks enduring numerous problems on and off the court this season, wholesale changes are likely in the offseason and Wilkens could be the first casualty. After squandering an eight-point lead in the final 1:50 of regulation, the Hawks outlasted the Nets in the second overtime, taking a 109-107 lead on rookie Jason Terry's jumper with 3:23 left. Lorenzen Wright hit a 12-footer to make it 111-107 before New Jersey's Keith Van Horn made a six-footer with 2:04 to play. Neither team scored in the last two minutes. Van Horn drove the baseline in the final seconds but had his shot blocked by Wright. Terry and LaPhonso Ellis scored 16 points apiece for the Hawks, who have won two straight following a nine-game losing streak. Van Horn scored 24 points and Lucious Harris 22 for the Nets, who suffered their 10th straight defeat and reached 50 losses for the 11th time since joining the NBA in 1976. | ALSO SEE NBA Scoreboard New Jersey Clubhouse Atlanta Clubhouse RECAPS Boston 114 Washington 81
