AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ Grant Hill had 24 points and 12 assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 118-100 exhibition victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. It was the third straight win for the Pistons (3-1), while Dallas dropped to 1-1. Christian Laettner added 17 points for Detroit while Michael Curry and Marcus Brown had 10 each. Cedric Ceballos paced Dallas with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Gary Trent added 16 points. The Pistons led 62-57 at halftime before expanding the lead to 16 points witn an 11-0 run early in the third quarter. Hill had four points in the run and his passes led to five more. Dallas pulled within 85-76, but Detroit finished the third quarter with a 13-4 run to lead by 18. The Pistons led by as many as 24 in the fourth quarter as both teams emptied their benches. Dallas lost backup guard Steve Nash in the first half with a twisted right ankle.
