CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday announced the makeup dates for two games postponed after the death of Bobby Phills.
The game with the Chicago Bulls, originally scheduled for Jan. 12 -- the day of Phills' fatal automobile accident -- will take place Sunday, March 5, at 7 p.m. ET. Charlotte will play host to the New York Knicks on Monday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. That game is the makeup from the Jan. 14 postponement. The Hornets also announced Tuesday that the jersey retirement ceremony for Phills will be held Feb. 9, when the Hornets face the Cleveland Cavaliers. Phills played six seasons for the Cavs.
His No. 13 jersey will be the first number retired by the Hornets.
