Enes Kanter to miss weekend Celtics games with knee bruise

Center Enes Kanter, nursing a left knee contusion, is out for both of the Boston Celtics games this weekend -- the home opener against the Toronto Raptors on Friday and Saturday's game against the Knicks in New York, the team said.

Kanter banged his knee in the second half of the Celtics' season-opening loss to the Sixers in Philadelphia.

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Kanter will be re-evaluated early next week.

"Probably could have been a lot worse but thankfully it wasn't," Stevens said.

The Celtics are likely to use Daniel Theis and Robert Williams at center.
