Shooting guard Anthony Lawrence II, a forward out of the University of Miami, was selected No. 1 by the Northern Arizona Suns in the G League draft on Saturday afternoon.

Lawrence spent four seasons at Miami from 2015 to 2019, averaging 12.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.6 3s in 2018-2019. He also appeared in NBA Summer League with the Cleveland Cavaliers in July.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce took Georgetown's Trey Mourning with the second pick. Madit Tieny Dak from South Sudan went to the Texas Legends, then the Westchester Knicks took Tyler Hall from Montana State. The Iowa Wolves selected Trevon Duval with the fifth pick.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants got Hasheem Thabeet, the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, with the 18th pick in the first round. Each team was required to select two players in the four-round draft. Most teams chose to pass in the fourth round.

The NBA G League regular season begins on November 8.
