Avery Bradley to remain out during Lakers' road trip

NBA, Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers say guard Avery Bradley, who has a hairline fracture in his right leg, will be reevaluated the day after Thanksgiving, once the team has returned from its four-game road trip.

The Lakers will play Oklahoma City, Memphis, San Antonio and New Orleans on the trip.

Bradley injured his leg during a collision with San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray on Nov. 3. After missing one game -- the Lakers' comeback victory in Chicago -- he returned to the lineup and played in four more games.

The Lakers announced last Friday that he had a hairline fracture on the fibular head of his right leg, which is a non-weight-bearing bone, according to the team. The injury was discovered after an MRI last week.

Initial X-rays on the leg came back negative, but because the injury continued to bother Bradley, the team followed up with an MRI.

The Lakers' defense ranks second in the NBA for points allowed (101.1), and Bradley's play has made a significant contribution.

Also, Alex Caruso (right calf strain) is probable for Friday at the Thunder.

Information from ESPN's Dave McMenamin was used in this report.
