Toronto Raptors' OG Anunoby out at least two weeks to rest fractured finger

Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby will be sidelined for two weeks to rest a fractured finger, coach Nick Nurse confirmed Thursday.

Anunoby will re-evaluated at the end of that stretch on a plan for his return to play.

Anunoby, who's averaging career highs in points (17.5), rebounds (5.5) and assists (2.6), is expected to avoid surgery on that right ring finger, sources said, and the hope is that he will heal sufficiently in the two weeks of rest so that he can get back on the floor thereafter.

Thursday night was his fifth straight missed game.

After Anunoby saw a hand specialist Monday, ]Nurse told reporters Tuesday that "the specialist said it was nearly healed, it's getting better every day. They said probably within two weeks it would be fully healed. ..."

The Raptors are 34-28 and in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
