LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Nick Bradford scored 19 points as No. 23 Kansas recovered from a sluggish start to beat Nebraska 83-58 Wednesday night, handing the Cornhuskers their sixth straight loss.

Drew Gooden and Kenny Gregory each scored 12 for the Jayhawks (20-7, 9-4 Big 12), who outscored Nebraska 49-24 in the second half.

The Jayhawks, who held off No. 20 Oklahoma 53-50 on Saturday, have won consecutive games for the first time since beating Nebraska and Texas A&M in mid-January.

Cary Cochran scored 14 points and Kimani Ffriend had 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Cornhuskers (10-16, 3-10). Larry Florence added 12 points for Nebraska, which hasn't won since beating Kansas State on Jan. 29.

Coach Danny Nee has been stuck on 253 wins, tying Joe Cipriano for the most in school history.

After scrapping for a halftime tie at 34, Nebraska fell apart. Kansas opened the half by scoring nine unanswered points, holding Nebraska scoreless for 3:35.

Nebraska stayed within single digits until the Jayhawks went on a 7-0 run after Florence was called for a technical foul for blocking Nick Collison's drive with 12:15 left to play.

Collison went 1-for-2 from the line and Jeff Boschee hit both free throws for the technical to start the run, which put Kansas up 56-43.

Louis Truscott snapped Nebraska's scoring drought of 5:45 by hitting a pair of free throws with 9:11 left to cut the lead to 56-45, but Eric Chenowith converted a three-point play to start an 11-2 Kansas run.

The game was tied at halftime despite Nebraska's 14 turnovers. The Huskers stayed in it by shooting 54 percent and outrebounding the Jayhawks 24-20. Cochran was 4-for-4 in the half, hitting all three of his 3-point attempts, and pulled down six rebounds.
