GAME DAY PREVIEW Game time: 8:00pm ET
Wisconsin-Milwaukee (0-0) at Wisconsin (0-0)

MADISON, Wis. (Ticker) -- This game has been postponed by heavy snow in the Madison area.

The forecast called for 6 to 10 inches of snow north of Milwaukee and west to Madison, with 4 to 8 inches in the area around Sheboygan and Fond du Lac.

No makeup date has been set.

Having already disposed of one intrastate rival, 17th-ranked Wisconsin was to have played host to Wisconsin-Milwaukee in search of its sixth consecutive victory.

The Badgers (5-1) recorded a 61-53 victory at Wisconsin-Green Bay on Wednesday, then followed with a 65-46 thrashing of Ohio three nights later to improve to 3-0 since Brad Soderberg replaced Dick Bennett as coach.

Soderberg has continued his predecessor's commitment to defense and has Wisconsin matching its longest winning streak of last season, when the Badgers reached the Final Four. Wisconsin has not won six in a row since reeling off seven consecutive victories from January 6-30, 1999.

Under Soderberg, the Badgers are allowing just 48.3 points per game.

Kirk Penney, a 6-5 sophomore from New Zealand, is Wisconsin's leading scorer at 13.6 points per game. He had 13 against Ohio. Ray Boone led the Badgers on Saturday with 17 points and is right behind Penney at 13.4 per game.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee (5-3) has not played since an 85-44 loss at Illinois on Wednesday. The Panthers shot just 22 percent (13-of-60) from the field as they fell to 0-2 against Big Ten Conference foes this season. Wisconsin-Milwaukee also was beaten at Iowa to open the campaign, 83-79.

Three Panthers are averaging in double figures, led by sophomore forward Clay Tucker at 17.3 points per game. Senior center Chad Angeli contributes 13.5 points and 3.8 rebounds, while 5-11 sophomore Dan Weisse chips in just under 11 points a game.

The Badgers have dominated the series, winning 16 of 17 meetings, including the last seven. Last season, Wisconsin pulled away in the second half for a 69-49 victory.
