GAME DAY PREVIEW Game time: 7:30pm ET
Central Connecticut State at Seton Hall

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Twelfth-ranked Seton Hall looks to close out its non-conference schedule on a strong note tonight when the Pirates play host to Central Connecticut State.

Seton Hall (8-2) is coming off a lackluster 85-67 win over Hartford on Wednesday. The Pirates trailed midway through the first half before going on a 17-3 run to gain control of the game.

Freshman Eddie Griffin scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Seton Hall. Griffin leads the team at 20.3 points per game. Darius Lane added 17 points for the Pirates, who are 5-1 at the Continental Airlines Arena.

The Pirates will open Big East play at home against Providence on January 3.

Central Connecticut State (5-4) has not played since a 63-56 overtime loss at Air Force on December 12. The Blue Devils blew a 20-point lead with 19 minutes left in the game. Corsley Edwards led Central Connecticut with 17 points.

John Tice added 14 points for the Blue Devils, who are the defending Notheast Conference champions. Central Connecticut fell to Iowa State in the first round of the Midwest Regional in Minneapolis in the 2000 NCAA Tournament.

Seton Hall leads the series, 3-0. The teams have not met since 1988.
