Kentucky Wildcats
RECORD: 23-10 COACH: Tubby Smith | SEASON RESULTS | SEASON STATS
OUTLOOK
  • First round: Defeated St. Bonaventure, 85-80
  • Second round: Lost to Syracuse, 52-50

While Kentucky is still a name to be respected, I think most people wrote them off at 4-4. But the Wildcats finished the regular season on a strong note.

    Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the NCAA Tournament with an inside look at the Kentucky playbook.
Jamaal Magloire had one of the best seasons of any player in the country. He was outstanding, leading the SEC in double-doubles. Magloire led the Wildcats in scoring, but they don't have much offense. They can't shoot, finishing 11th in SEC in field-goal percentage and last in 3-point shooting.

On the other hand, Kentucky has the No. 1 scoring defense and is second in field-goal percentage defense. While their offense is lacking, there aren't many clubs with better shot blockers than Magloire, Tayshaun Prince and Jules Camara.

I think Kentucky is good enough to get to the round of 16, and maybe even the Elite Eight. But if the Wildcats make it to the Final Four, it would be one of the best coaching jobs ever. Tubby Smith has already done this season the best job he's done since he's been at Kentucky. -- Larry Conley, ESPN
