ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- K.C. Enzminger capped a huge second-half comeback with his fourth touchdown pass of the game, hitting Lane Grady for a 29-yard score with 5:54 left to give New Mexico State a 35-28 victory over in-state rival New Mexico. Enzminger was a dismal 3-of-11 for just 30 yards in the first half, after which New Mexico State (1-0) faced a 20-7 deficit. He came back in the second half to complete 6-of-10 passes for 146 yards and three scores, the last of which snapped a 28-28 deadlock. Chris Barnes rushed for 107 of his 143 yards in the second half, including a four-yard touchdown during New Mexico State's 21-point third quarter. Enzminger fired a pair of TD tosses to Ryan Shaw, who had three catches for 42 yards. His 20-yard touchdown reception came with 1:39 left in the third quarter and gave the Aggies a 28-20 lead. New Mexico (0-1) answered early in the final period as Eric Jaworsky found Brian Urlacher for a game-tying five-yard score. But the Lobos failed to put together another scoring drive, losing for just the fourth time in the last 23 meetings with the Aggies. Jaworsky finished 8-of-13 for 100 yards and Reginal Johnson rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on seven carries for New Mexico, which fell to 58-27-5 all-time against New Mexico State.
