SEATTLE (AP) _ Quarterback Cale Bonds ran for three touchdowns as Air Force won its 11 straight game with a 31-21 win over Washington on Saturday.

The game was tied 14-14 at halftime, but the Falcons (2-0) took advantage of Washington mistakes in the second half to beat the Huskies for the second time in less than a year.

The Falcons defeated the Huskies 45-25 in the inaugural Oahu Bowl in Honolulu last Christmas.

Freshman Paul Arnold set a Huskies' record by returning Jackson Whiting's kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown with 5:02 left after Bonds scored his third TD of the day.

Washington dropped to 0-2 under first-year coach Rick Neuheisel, its worst start since the 1985 Huskies went 0-2 under coach Don James.

With the score tied at halftime, sophomore linebacker Corey Nelson of the Falcons partially blocked Ryan Fleming's punt from the Washington 45 and the ball traveled only 12 yards.

That gave Air Force the ball on the Huskies' 27 and Scotty McKay set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Bonds with a 39-yard run on a pitchout. Bonds' second TD run put the Falcons ahead 21-14 with 5:20 left in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Air Force's Jackson Whiting kicked a 44-yard field goal and Bonds scored on another 1-yard run before Arnold's 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Bonds' score was set up by Tony Jones' interception and 19-yard return to the 1.

Washington's Marques Tuiasopo completed 20 of 44 passes for 195 yards with three interceptions.

Scotty McKay led Air Force's rushing attack with 14 carries for 106 yards, while Bonds gained 77 yards on 19 carries. Bonds also completed 6 of 11 passes for 65 yards.

Braxton Cleman had 100 yards on 11 carries for Washington.

Washington turned a fumble by Qualario Brown into a touchdown to tie the score at 14 with 3:51 left in the second quarter.

Brown lost the ball after a hit by Jeremiah Pharms, and Anthony Vontoure recovered the ball for Washington at the Huskies' 43. Clemans got Washington's first touchdown on a 2-yard run after he ran 40 and 13 yards on pitchouts following the fumble recovery.

Tuiasosopo passed to Joe Jarzynka for a 2-point conversion.

Air Force drove 69 and 66 yards for touchdowns the first two times it had the ball. After John Anderson kicked a 33-yard field goal for the Huskies in the opening quarter, Falcons fullback Jeremy Laster scored on a 3-yard run to put his team ahead 7-3.

Bonds ran 2 yards for Air Force's second TD on the second play of the second period before Anderson booted a 30-yard field goal for Washington.

Washington's Hakim Akbar, a sophomore safety, had 16 tackles.
