WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) _ Des Kitchings rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns and Furman piled up 505 yards on the ground Saturday en route to a 52-6 victory over William & Mary. The loss was William & Mary's worst at home since 1958. Louis Ivory also ran for 151 yards and scored a touchdown for the Paladins, who were never threatened. Kitchings had a 52-yard TD run in the first quarter as Furman jumped ahead 21-3. The Paladins scored on their first four possessions. Kitchings added a 34-yard TD run in the fourth to give Furman a 38-6 lead and plenty of breathing room. Furman scored touchdowns on four its first five possessions in the second half. The 509 rushing yards are the second-highest for a single game in Furman history. Derek Russell added 28 rushing yards and two touchdowns as the Paladins got all seven of their TDs on the ground. The lone bright spot for William & Mary was David Conklin, who caught a 27-yard pass in the second quarter to make him the Tribe's all-time career receiving yards leader with 2,791 yards. Conklin broke the record set by Harry Mehre, who had 2,748 yards from 1985 through 1988. Before Saturday, the Tribe's worst performance at home was a 55-6 loss to West Virginia in November 1958.
