WASHINGTON (AP) _ J.J. Mont passed for three touchdowns and ran for one during a 27-point second quarter that powered Georgetown past Siena 47-12 Saturday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener.

Mont hurt his right leg when he was sacked by defensive end Martin Kehayas on the Hoyas' first offensive series, but returned early in the second period to help Georgetown (2-0 overall, 1-0 MAAC) to its seventh straight victory over the Saints.

Mont was 17-of-26 for 208 yards.

Bill Hisgen caught two touchdown passes for Siena (0-2, 0-1), which scored first in each half. But the Saints were undone by the Hoyas' second-quarter surge and four turnovers.

The Saints took a 6-0 lead on a 1-yard pass from Joe Spagnolo to Hisgen midway through the first quarter. On the next series, Georgetown's backup quarterback, Sean Peterson, engineered a six-play, 58-yard drive capped by a 32-yard scamper by Alex Fonti, who gained 96 yards on 10 carries.

Mont returned early in the second period and ran 11 yards for a score that increased the Hoyas' lead to 13-6 with 9:27 left in the half.

A fumble recovery by Georgetown linebacker Keith Bott at the Siena 30 set up the first of Mont's touchdown passes, a 9-yard strike to Mike Mattia with 6:28 remaining.

In the final 1:28 before halftime, Mont added touchdown passes of 18 yards to George Sumner and 5 to Chris Jordan for a 34-6 lead.

Peterson's pass was intercepted by Siena's Justin Ferris on Georgetown's first possession of the second half, setting up the Saints' other touchdown. Hisgen hauled in a 3-yard pass from reserve quarterback Don Record 3:55 into the half.

Georgetown added two fourth-quarter touchdowns. Steve Duggan returned a blocked punt 44 yards and Jamar Staples added a 10-yard scoring run.
