ORONO, Maine (AP) _ Taber Small ran for three touchdowns and Jordan Younger scored on a 68-yard punt return as Connecticut beat Maine 34-20 Saturday in Atlantic-10 Conference play. Small's 1-yard run with just under four minutes left in the game capped a 12 play, 69-yard drive and sealed the victory for Connecticut (2-2, 1-0). His other two scoring runs of six yards came in the first quarter, boosting Connecticut to a 20-6 lead at the half. Small finished with 99 yards on 32 carries. Younger ran his punt back in first quarter. Jake Eaton threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to John Gelsomino in the third period and rushed for another score from 5 yards out in the fourth for Maine (1-3, 1-1). Eaton threw for 220 yards, the most this season. Brian Hoffmann threw 5 passes for 66 yards in the third quarter for Connecticut, including his 24-yard touchdown pass to John Fitzsimmons. Younger left the game on a hyper-extended right knee in the second half. Maine's Todd Jagoutz had field goals of 33 and 20 yards in the second quarter.
