DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ Phil Joseph ran in two touchdowns Saturday as Drake beat Quincy 48-7, holding the Hawks to 124 yards total offense. The Bulldogs (3-1) rolled up 489 yards on offense, limited Quincy to six first downs and recorded five sacks. Joseph's first touchdown, a 32-yard run with 9:30 left in the first half, gave Drake a 24-0 lead. The touchdown was set up by Grant Pohlmann's 37-yard punt return. Quincy (1-4) scored 48 seconds later on Billy Kyles' 37-yard run. Joseph scored again on a 6-yard run in the third quarter, and Ira Vandever and Zach Baayen also ran in touchdowns in the quarter. Baayen led the Drake rushing game with 100 yards on 11 carries, including his 4-yard touchdown run. Drake had 343 yards rushing. Quincy managed just 61 yards rushing and 63 yards in the air, led by Shane DeSerlia's 53 yards on 4-of-10 passing. DeSerlia was sacked four times. Drake's Chris Makris was completed 10 of 19 passes for 127 yards, including a 11-yard touchdown pass to Cody Koch. Drake is non-scholarship NCAA Division I-AA; Quincy is NCAA Division II.
