INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) _ Ryan Zimpleman carried the ball 29 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns to lead Butler University to a 34-19 victory over Wesley College (1-2) Saturday. Zimpleman punched the ball in from a yard out with 5:40 left in the first half and then ran around the left side for a 2-yard score in the fourth quarter. Dewayne Ewing completed 15-of-21 passes for 214 yards for the Bulldogs (3-1), including a 23-yard touchdown strike to Kyle Conner with 11:08 left in the third quarter. Wesley was first on the board 12 seconds into the game when Jesse Wilson ran the opening kickoff all the way to the Butler 10 and fumbled the ball. Andre Summers fell on the loose ball in the end zone for the score. Butler struck back 57 seconds into the second quarter on a Wolverine fumble. This time Jabbar Truitt fumbled in the end zone and Ryan Kelly recovered to knot the score at six. The Bulldogs went on to score two more touchdowns in the quarter to take a 20-13 halftime lead. Wesley carried the ball 49 times for 261 yards in the loss. Forrley Gunby ran 138 yards on 18 carries, while Truitt added 76 yards on 19 carries. Ewing left the game in the third quarter with a leg injury and was taken to the hospital for x-rays.
