BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) _ Phil Stambaugh threw for 272 yards and five touchdowns and Ron Jean rushed for 179 yards as Lehigh extended its regular-season winning streak to a Division I-best 16 games with a 63-13 rout of Columbia on Saturday. Jean scored on runs from 22 and 65 yards out and also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter as Lehigh (4-0) built a 35-7 halftime lead. The Engineers outgained the Lions (1-2) 600-256 in total offense for the game. After getting just a TD run from Jean in the first quarter, Stambaugh threw for four touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 51-yarder to Rick Moore at 10:22 and a 46-yarder to Kody Fedorcha less than four minutes later. Stambaugh added a 37-yard scoring pass to Josh Snyder in the third quarter before departing. He became Lehigh's career-leader in touchdown throws with 63. Columbia managed just two touchdowns, a 2-yard catch by Jason Pease, and a 6-yard run by Jamal Trotter with 4:34 left in the game. Jamal Burcher added a 37-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for Lehigh, which extended its home winning streak to nine games.
